2. STATEMENT
OF HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
It is the policy
of Netspark Electrical to ensure so far
as is reasonably practicable, that all
employees are safe from injury and risks
to health while at work. Netspark Electrical
meets the commitment by instructing that
work practices and procedures adopted
throughout the Company comply with the
Acts and Regulations governing Occupational
Safety & Health.
All personnel are issued
with the National Electrical Contractors
Association safety handbook and are expected
to take all practical measures to ensure
a safe and healthy working environment
in keeping with the following defined
responsibilities:
MANAGEMENT
The management
of the Company has a responsibility to,
provide and maintain so far as is reasonably
practicable:
(a)
A safe working environment.
(b) Safe systems of work for employees
and the public.
(c) Plant, equipment and substances
in a safe condition for operation.
- Provide information,
instructions and supervision to any
employee in safe work practises.
- Adopt measures to minimise
the risk of and harmful effects of,
fire and explosion.
- Instruct an employee
in the proper use of appropriate personal
protective equipment.
- Keep information and
records associated with work-related
injuries suffered by employees.
- Investigate all work-related
accidents.
- Monitor working conditions
at any workplace that is under the direct
management and control of the company
and review / update where necessary,
policies, rules and conditions relating
to Occupational Safety and Health.
SITE SUPERVISORS
AND PROJECT MANAGERS
Those persons with
a supervisory role are responsible for
ensuring that all employees under their
control, so far as is reasonably practicable:
- Obey the Company's Health
and Safety Policy.
- Immediately report any
accident / injury within their area
of control.
- Take appropriate measure
in instructing the provision, maintenance
and proper use of approved personal
protective equipment, including supervision
of employees under their control.
- Report any health or
safety hazards to management, as soon
as they become aware of them.
- Are not, by the consumption
of alcohol or a drug, in such a state
as to endanger his or her safety at
work or the safety of employees under
their control.
EMPLOYEES
Employees have
a responsibility to ensure that nothing
is done to make health and safety provisions
less effective.
In particular they must:
- Take reasonable care
to protect their own health and safety
at work by obeying the company's health
and safety policy.
- Ensure that they do not
endanger any other person through any
act or omission at work.
- Ensure that correct use
is made of all equipment provided for
health and safety purposes.
- Obey all instructions
issued to protect their own personal
health and safety and the health and
safety of others.
- Ensure that they are
not, by the consumption of alcohol or
a drug, in such a state as to endanger
their own safety at work or the safety
of any other person at work.
- Report or make such recommendations
to their Site Supervisors / Project
Managers as they deem necessary to avoid,
eliminate or minimise any hazards of
which they are aware regarding working
conditions or methods.
